Vuokatti has a few unique features and one is the purpose-built ski tunnel.

The first of its kind in the World. Yes – did we mention it? Skiing is a serious thing in Scandinavia!

For many professional teams and athletes it is critical to be able to train throughout the year and so this facility is often busy even in the middle of Summer. As interesting for the “serious” professional to utilise as it is for a “curious” tourist to mess around in the snow for a while.

Over a thousand metres long with a middle shallow descent the temperature is maintained at between -5 & -9 degrees Celsius. Colder temperatures of up to - 15 degrees can also be simulated. It makes a great place to store snow to use in the summertime as well.

Tickets to enter can be purchased in VuokattiSport reception and in the InterSport shop beside the tunnel entrance in the Vuokatti Tourist Centre.
