The magnificent scenery of Vuokatti can be admired from atop Naapurinvaara ridge. The heritage landscape of Naapurinvaara can be readily viewed both in summer as well as in winter.
Naapurinvaara, to the north from Vuokatti, is renown for its luxuriant nature and magnificent landscapes. Located on the northern shore of Lake Nuasjärvi, Naapurinvaara reveals the splendid scenery of Vuokatti: to the south there are the open waters of Lake Nuasjärvi, to the east there is the Vuokatti string of highland ridges, and next to them Sotkamo.
Naapurinvaara's heritage landscape and nature can be admired in the summer by hiking and in winter by skiing to the top of this ridge where there is a hut and where one can take a break and perhaps have a cup of coffee or tea by the campfire.
To 3 km Lepikko trail has signposts pointing to it both at the Naapurinvaara schoolhouse and Naapurinvaara Lomakylä; in addition, Koulupolku ja Vaaranlenkki trails leave from the schoolhouse in the direction of the highland landscapes.
Also located on Naapurinvaara is one of Finland's oldest dance pavilions; it is called Naapurinvaaran Huvikeskus.
